Alumni FAQ Q) Who is an Old Tauntonian? A) Any former Pupil of Taunton School or Weirfield. Q) How much does it cost to be an Old Tauntonian? A) NOTHING IT'S FREE! As a former pupil you are important to us. Q) What can I do for the OT's? A) Support OT events in your area; offer work experience or advice to current pupils. If we don’t have your contact details, please let us know as we would be delighted to reconnect you with Taunton School. Q) What is the Alumni Database? A) It is a database with the names, contact details and general information about former pupils of Taunton School. We are registered under the Data Protection Act and our data is used exclusively for Taunton School. We neither sell it or make it available to other third parties. Q) If I register on the database will I get ‘begging letters’ from the School? A) NO! If we have your contact details, then we will send you complimentary copies of The Taunton School Review (School news) and the OT Review (OT news). You will receive invitations to Alumni Events organised by the School (i.e. year group reunions) as well as OTA events via ‘snail mail’ and Email. You can also be put in contact with your friends from School - even publicising your own projects on the Taunton School Website. However, you will be given the opportunity to support the work of the Taunton School Foundation through its Annual Fund and Legacy programme. (www.tauntonschool.co.uk/foundation). We don’t consider these as ‘begging letters’ but more of an opportunity for you to help the present generation (and future generations) of pupils fulfil their potential. If you do not wish to receive such letters, please let us know and we will exclude you from Foundation mailings Q) What if I want to remain anonymous? A) If you do not want your details known then we simply do not give them out. If someone wants to get in contact with you, we will let you know their address or Email and it is up to you to contact them. Your privacy will be respected by us at all times.
