DONOR RECOGNITION
1847 Society
To honour those who have helped in the past, and in recognition of those in the present who have made legacy bequests to Taunton School in their Wills, it has been decided to set up an exclusive Society, known as the 1847 Society, commemorating the founding of Taunton School.
Individuals who inform the Taunton School Foundation of their intention to make a bequest to the School will automatically become Members of the society. Members’ names will not be published given that this is often a personal issue. However, in order to recognise and thank members appropriately, they will be invited to an annual dinner hosted by the Chairman of the Foundation, the Headmaster and the Chairman of Governors, in this way, members who so wish will be kept informed of the School’s development plans and intentions for the future. We very much hope that you will wish to become a member of this important and worthy society.
In addition, it has been agreed by the Foundation Board to expand the membership base of the society to those individuals who have donated cash sums of over £5,000 to the Foundation, in recognition of their outstanding support of the School.
Naming Opportunities
The Foundation Director would be delighted to discuss the many opportunities for donors to sponsor projects bearing their names. Such areas involved might be scholarships, sporting facilities, buildings and even individual rooms.
Reports on Giving
In recognition of all the tremendous support received by the Foundation, all donors’ names, unless they specifically ask to be omitted, appear on the website under the link, “List of Donors”. Additionally, reports are sent out from time to time and are displayed on the Taunton School Foundation noticeboard just off the main corridor.
Thank you to each and every donor for your generosity. This is sincerely appreciated and valued. With your help Taunton School will ‘lead the way’ for many years to come.
