BUDDING Jenson Buttons from Taunton School have been making national headlines on the racetrack.
The school’s Greenpower team competed with their stunning car ‘Viper’ at the Top Gear test track and the Castle Combe motor racing circuit before taking part in the national finals at Goodwood for the fourth consecutive year.
The car was manufactured from aluminium and carbon fibre with its form being heavily developed through a virtual wind tunnel in SolidWorks.
Now, their efforts have been featured in the December issue of Complete Kit Car magazine, which praised their design, use of bodywork and overall performance as they came 15th out of the 70 participating schools.
Team Viper are already looking forward to 2013 when they have their sights set on a number of different competitions and hope to earn a title or two. The team are, managed by Head of Design and Technology, Mr Jon Baker.
