The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma

The IB Diploma programme, which is proving increasingly popular with both universities and employers, provides Sixth Form students at Taunton School with an attractive alternative to A Levels.

This two-year course allows students to study a broad range of subjects as part of a holistic programme with a particular emphasis on independent learning and a questioning approach to knowledge. The IB Diploma programme is popular with students who find it difficult to restrict their choice of subjects to just four AS Levels. It is a challenging course that is particularly suited to those who enjoy the freedom to think beyond the confines of the exam syllabus. However the courses are accessible to all students who are well-motivated and willing to work hard and gain good study skills.
