Great news! We have secured planning permission for the two new pavilions to be built on the Lowers and Uppers sports pitches. These facilities will provide much needed toilets for pupils, staff and visitors as well as team rooms and, at Uppers, storage for sports equipment replacing a number of the unsightly metal shipping containers next to the tennis courts.
The buildings will be timber clad with a pitched slate roof and a verandah across the front, see drawings as below, and will be made and built by a local Somerset company, Sparkford ltd. They have worked with Taunton School to arrive at a quality design that was both traditional in appearance and easy to maintain.
The Lowers pavilion will be built facing the hedge that separates the Foxcombe and Lowers sports pitches. The Uppers pavilion will be located to the north of the tennis courts where the metal containers currently sit, facing the Jowett hockey pitch and the athletics track.

Funding is in place and we will be constructing the pavilions over the summer holidays although some enabling works may start beforehand.
