Taunton School Prep Students in a group
Prep (Aged 7-13)

Prep Admissions Process

Many of our Prep students begin their educational journey at Taunton School and have progressed from Nursery through to Pre-Prep before joining our Prep School. However, we warmly welcome admissions to Taunton Prep School from age 7-13, which is school years 3-8.

Here’s our easy step by step guide to the Preparatory School admissions process.

For further information or to arrange a visit, please contact our Admissions Manager on 01823 703303 or email tpsadmissions@tauntonschool.co.uk

Admissions Process

1. Initial Enquiry/Registration

Please make your enquiry by email with your child’s name, date of birth, copy of their passport or birth certificate, (this is required for all pupils irrespective of nationality) and their most recent school report along with information about any special educational needs your child may have.

We will send you a Prospectus Pack containing a Registration Form

Please complete and return the Registration Form along with the £100 registration fee – (this will ensure that your child is on the future entrants’ reservation list.)

Our Admissions Manager will arrange for you to visit Taunton Prep School and have a tour with our Headmaster Mr Burnett.

2. Visit & Taster Day

Once we have received your registration form we will invite you in to meet the Headmaster and have a tour of our school.

Your child will be invited into School for a ‘Taster Day’ during which they join their peer group for the day to gain real insight into life at Taunton Prep School. We will contact you at the end of the day to discuss next steps. With your permission, we will contact the child’s current Headteacher for recent school reports and a reference.

3. Offer of a Place

Once we are in a position to offer a place, an offer letter will be sent, with an Acceptance Form and a copy of our Standard Terms and Conditions.

4. Acceptance of a Place

Completion and return of the Acceptance Form, together with the acceptance deposit (which is returned to you when your child leaves the School), will secure the place and form the contract with the School.

We will send you confirmation and all the information you need regarding joining Taunton School, including term dates, fees schedule, New Pupil’s handbook and uniform list in good time for the start of term.

Note: For international students, we will also require your arrival information (flight/train/taxi details) and a copy of your visa once it has been granted.

Please feel free to call for information, advice or support at any during the Admissions Process.
