6th Form at Taunton School
- Horizons Lectures

For two periods on a Saturday morning, Sixth Formers attend ‘Horizons’ lectures. These sessions are planned so as to develop breadth beyond curriculum and issues of a general nature are covered, including health, Higher Education, Gap years, work experience, travel and politics.
Guest speakers lecture on a variety of issues;
recent contributors have included a polar explorer,
a retired Headmaster who spoke of coming to terms with blindness and a senior Naval Officer who shared his experiences of working in pre-election Baghdad,
our local member of Parliament,
a dangerous sports enthusiast and
a former Captain of the England Rugby Team.
A mixture of presentation styles are used and
the Sixth Form students will always find something
relevant from this excellent programme.
