- Networked computers with internet access
- A photocopier for your use
How to join…
You will automatically become a member of The Carrington Library when you join the school. In the 3rd, 4th Forms, you will be allowed to borrow two books for two weeks. 5th Formers may borrow three books at a time If you need the books for more than two weeks, you can renew the loan for another two weeks, but if you return your books late and have not renewed them, you will be fined 5p for each day each book is overdue.
You will be able to borrow books straight away.
During the Autumn term, you will be brought to visit The Carrington Library, learning how to use this resource effectively. Suggestions for new books for the library are always welcome!
Why use the Library…
The Carrington Library has thousands of books to help you with your studies as you go through the school. There is not time to teach everything in lessons, but you can learn through reading. Knowing how to get the most out of libraries is an important life skill. The Library is a quiet place for private study or just reading a good book for your own pleasure.
Library Rules…
Consideration for other people is the basic rule, so never
- Take books and periodicals out of the Library without checking them out properly.
- Make a noise and disturb other students.
- Put books back in the wrong place.
- Leave books and newspapers lying around on tables or chairs.
- Mark books or damage them in any way
- Eat or drink in the Library.

The Carrington Library is run by Mrs C. Ager, assisted by Mrs E. Smith, Mrs L. Ankcorn and Mrs P. Owen. They will all be delighted to help you find the information you need. They are here to help you, so feel free to ask them for advice.
