RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS

Following the summer, there have been a number of achievements by our pupils:

Tom Kinver –  GD

A quartet of stunning victories helped young sailor Tom win the Promotional Class at the World Cadet Championships in Wales.

This achievement is particularly impressive considering the lack of time Tom had to practice with his crew before competing in the event.

Tom’s continued individual success will help maintain his place in the national cadet squad, of which he has been a member for the last three years.

David Floyd  - WE

David Floyd has been selected to be a Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Somerset.

He will be appointed at a ceremony taking place at The Bishops Palace, Wells on Sunday 4th November 2007.

David James - EV and Katie Roberts - WD –

Arkwright Scholarships have recently been offered to both David James and Katie Roberts.

Arkwright's aim is to encourage and stimulate high ability 15/16 year old students to take up engineering or technological careers by awarding Scholarships during A Levels which are funded by industry partners and charitable trusts.
These scholarships are incredibly competitive, with over 4000 applicants, less than 200 are successful.

Congratulations to you all!

The season has started well this year for the girls’ hockey team. After a challenging pre-season at Seaford, for a new first team squad, it all came together for a strong win against Queens in the first game on the 8th September.

The seconds and thirds played together for the first time and both displayed good teamwork and commitment.

With new squads, a new pitch and fresh determination, we look forward to playing Wells Cathedral this Saturday, 22nd September.
The more support, for all the teams, the better, so please come and cheer us on!
