Cooking, sports and retail therapy

NEWS FROM PREP SCHOOL BOARDING HOUSE

The Reading Weekend was a welcomed stop gap, giving us all time to recharge those batteries and prepare ourselves for the remaining two weeks leading into half term. Whilst there was essentially no formalised Saturday timetable, it was great for Thone House to begin celebrations of the Chinese New Year, by cooking a noodles based dish on Open Morning. This was followed by a popular request to go into Taunton for some retail therapy, use of the sports hall during the wet and wild weather, and in anticipation and preparation for the activity next weekend, the debut trial of our new pancake making machine.

With the pancakes being a big hit, the test of our new Waffle Stick machine was, as predicted, another great success. Such treats were very well received following a fun swim in the Keeling swimming pool. Such activities have been complemented by climbing, ball games, short tennis, cake baking……. whilst also ensuring preps are up to date and down time is also enjoyed.

Next half term, we look forward to our Harry Potter Theme Night, as well as our trips to Clip n Climb, Art to Art and Exeter.
