Wet, windy and hairy scary!

Posted: 3rd February 2017

Wet, windy and hairy scary! That is what the Reception children think of their wild week on a Bear Hunt! We love the We’re Going on a Bear Hunt performance team and I do hope that you have all managed to view it on the website or via our TS facebook page.

I have also seen children creating their own stories in the same style – we are going on a chicken hunt, Gruffalo hunt, crocodile hunt ……Have you seen the children’s fancy writing? It is amazing and there is lots of it, for ones so young.

This week we have welcomed Mrs Lewis back into Year 2 (thank you) and I have also had the joy of working with these sensible, polite grown up children. 3D shapes, Venn diagrams exploring the properties of shape.

Super spellings, work on grammar, riddles, comparing habitats, pastel drawings and free readers. It is always gratifying to see the progress children make in such a short time span.

All the children in Year 2 wish Mrs Cooper and Mrs Stunnell well. We miss you!

The new babies in Nursery One have settled really well and I even witnessed a very small child waving happily goodbye to Mum at only six months old! Claire Jones our baby room leader and her team do an outstanding job and I’m so proud of your lovely room, the activities you provide, the nurture you provide and the challenges you overcome. What a team!
