Posted: 10th November 2017

Taunton School proudly supported Taunton Rugby Club at the first match of the season when they held formal celebrations after being awarded the coveted Ministry of Defence Recognition Scheme Silver Award.

Taunton School, who are sponsors of Taunton Rugby Club and made a special match sponsorship, attended the Armed Forces Day on Saturday 4th November. Involving a 1000-strong crowd and cadets from across Somerset along with a marching band and entertainment, the day truly recognised the support given to the whole of the Armed Forces Community.

Declan Rogers, Senior School Registrar at Taunton School attended the event. “It was a proud day for Taunton School to be involved in such a well organised event. The memorial service was a particularly moving part of the day”, he said. “Taunton School are honoured to be able to support a thriving junior section. We give our warm congratulations to TRFC for receiving the MoD Recognition Scheme Silver Award.”

Jack Matthews, President of TRFC, made a speech highlighting the importance of supporters and sponsors, in particular Taunton School, without whom the junior section would not be the success that it is.
