Pudsey Bear drops in with BBC Somerset to meet pupils for Children in Need

Posted: 14th November 2017

The children wore their wellies to school, took part in ‘welly-wanging’ at break time and got to meet Pudsey Bear and BBC Somerset breakfast show presenter Claire Carter on Monday, 13th November.

Claire stopped at Taunton School whilst on her Great Wellington Walk for BBC Children in Need and received a cheque for £300 from the school for the charity.

The Pre-Prep children (aged 4 to 7) wore Pudsey ears and other Pudsey paraphernalia to school and did a special ‘Wake Up, Shake Up’ with Pudsey Bear in their playground.

The Prep children (aged 7 to 13) greeted Pudsey and Claire and posed for pictures with the big yellow bear.

On Friday, official BBC Children in Need day, the Prep children will be wearing spotty mufti, enjoying a break time disco and cake sale and in Pre-Prep they will be baking spotty cakes.

Andrew Edwards, Headmaster of Taunton Prep School said: “All the children were really excited to have Pudsey Bear and Claire Carter from BBC Somerset visit us as part of her great Wellington Walk. As a school, it is important for us to support causes such as Children in Need and teach our children here to think of those that are less fortunate than themselves and how they can help them. The children have raised £300 to add towards Claire’s total. We wish her the best of luck with the walk for the rest of the week.”
