Welcome back to the Nursery and TPPS Summer Term and hopefully some sunny weather too! We definitely have some wonderful sunflowers emerging in Year 2 inspired by the tale of Camille and the Sunflowers.

Our ‘Creative Curriculum Wows’ this week started with a Commotion in the Ocean in Nursery 4 and what a wonderful interactive display of crabs, seaweed, jellyfish, and a host of mixed medium collages and interpretations.

Reception have been making up and writing riddles to accompany their wonderful and very detailed paintings of sea cucumbers, octopuses with lots of suckers, jellyfish and eels. The children have also been out in the Forest School on Uppers to find hidden treasure and treasure maps left by pirates on their way to the seaside! X marks the spot! Fun learning and all with a purpose.

There is also lots of twinkling sparkly treasure glistening in the sand trays – because the sun is shining at last!

Mysterious magical packages were left in the office for Year 1 and I wonder what was inside? (Of course I know, but can you find out?)

Children enjoyed a German food festival fit for Kings and Queens. There was a very special celebration as Mrs Stunell turned 60 yesterday with a special cake for morning snack. This was made and delivered by Lisa our Chef – thank you Lisa!

Enjoy the array of photographs and don’t forget to have a look at Taunton School Facebook page and Twitter feed as often there are videos and photos on there to keep you in the loop. Young children, after a very busy day don’t always like to talk about what they have been doing so use these as a starting point to engage them in discussion.

Please may I remind you all school sun hats should always be available to wear and in school. The school shop have them ready to purchase if you need one. We are being strict about hats adhering to the uniform code from N3 onwards, as always we pride ourselves in looking smart and ready for action.
