This week was yet another busy week at TSI. Houman, Hannah, Angie, Kali, Timo and Kian represented TSI at the European Language quiz on Wednesday 26th September finishing in joint 4th place in what was a very fun and enjoyable evening!
The Macmillan Coffee Morning was held Thursday 27th September with all students and staff contributing to a great cause whether that was through baking, selling or donating. Raising over £150 we are very pleased with the efforts of our student and staff. It was also nice to see some of our ex TSI students joining us who are now based down at Taunton School.
On the sports front Louise captained the Foxcombe girls team with Slava, Neva, Manu, Sofi, Lisa, Azzurra, Liang-Liang, Ronya, Maria and Kali all playing really well in their first house competition, against the houses of Taunton School. On the boys side Jek made his debut in the under 16’s A rugby team, whilst Yanis, Paulius, Alfred and Timo played for the under 16’s B team. Even though they didn’t win, the teams made huge improvements and hopes are high for the rest of the season!
Earlier in the week Angie flew to Geneva to compete in a chess tournament looking for a place in the under 16’s Swiss Chess Championships. Overall she came fourth which puts her in a good position for future competitions ahead of qualification. This is something Angie has been involved with for many years and practices hard to keep up the level she is at.
Many of our students opted to join Taunton School trips at the weekend. Manu, Sofi, Azzurra and Kian travelled to Stover where they took part in conservation projects to look after the environment. Meanwhile Jarry, Justin and Dylan enjoyed a day at the beach, learning how to surf on the North Devon Coast. They enjoyed great weather and look forward to going again!
