Spring Term: Achievements to be Celebrated

Posted: 29th March 2019

I always seem to write at the end of term about how busy it has been. This one has been no different with so many activities going on and achievements to be celebrated. I was really impressed with the EPQ presentations and have heard that the quality of the research projects on the Sports BTEC course have been outstanding. It has been great to see so many students receiving commendations for their effort.

I dropped in on the CCF Contingent last week and was also impressed by the appearance and professionalism of the staff and students. My thanks to Mr Sainsbury for all his efforts here.

Our debating goes from strength to strength and good luck to Angelica Gori and Julien Muller who are competing in Toronto in the World Schools Debating Championship.

I have very much enjoyed all the musical activities recently and the uplifting Spring Concert on Monday was a great way to end the term.

There has been so much going on in sport that it almost impossible to list the achievements. Suffice to say it took me around 30 minutes to congratulate all the teams and individuals who have been successful in sport over the past term. I was proud to watch our Under 16 netballers at the National Finals recently and also enjoyed watching our under 14B team hockey players demolishing the opposition.

Finally I am delighted that volunteering is enjoying a raised profile, with so many of our students involved in a range of community projects. As ever, I am enormously grateful to the staff who enable us to offer such breadth of co-curricular activities.
