Posted: 13th June 2019

17-year-old Anna Parkinson, has just received her first cap playing for the Somerset Women against Wales.

As well as playing for the firsts and seconds at Taunton School, all-rounder Anna is also in the county age group U17 side.

She is currently studying for A Levels in Maths, Biology and Chemistry. Anna said: “Although cricket is a big part of my life, I also know how important a great education is and I’m hoping to do a degree in Neuroscience when I go to University.”

She added: “I feel really well supported at Taunton School, and have had some excellent coaching from Marcus Trescothick and Pete Sanderson.”

Director of Cricket at Taunton School, Pete Sanderson said: “Anna has worked incredibly hard this winter in 1-1 sessions, small group sessions with both girls and boys. Her ability has never been questioned and she has flourished this winter and at the start of the summer and it is pleasing to see her getting recognised by Somerset at both senior and junior levels.”
