World Mental Health Day

Posted: 10th October 2019

The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day on 10th October every year and to mark World Mental Health Day, Foxcombe House hosted a day filled with activities and social events, starting off with breakfast in the common room. A communal breakfast allowed everyone to chat, listen to music and tuck into some delicious croissants!

In the evening, activities began at 8pm and each student signed up for at least one activity, so everyone was involved, including the House Staff and our Deputy Head, Mrs White.

A Zumba session was held in the Hall, run by a qualified Zumba instructor, which proved to be the most popular activity and was thoroughly enjoyed by all that got involved. Running alongside Zumba Miss Small and Mr Reed organised ‘Mindful Colouring’ for those who wanted to enjoy a more peaceful evening. Miss Ley ran a 30 minute ‘Zen Yoga’ session, which provided the students a space to try something new and enjoy a calm and relaxing half an hour. Mr Bull organised and ran a ‘Boxercise’ HIIT session

It was wonderful that every single student got involved with all the aspects of the evening and the atmosphere was great! To finish the day Mr Reed and Miss Small made some home-made smoothies for the students to enjoy after their activities.
