Posted: 6th February 2021

Throughout lockdown, the Prep School’s pistol team have been training hard and were rewarded when they qualified for the National Finals of the School Pistol Championships last month.

The regional finals took place remotely and the team had a very successful competition. They achieved a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th place individually and as a team, finished top in the South West region. They are currently placed 3rd nationally.

The regional rounds saw more than 200 students from over 100 different schools across the UK take part. The National Finals will take place over a live video feed in April.

The team included: Zoe Trembath (1st), Laura Trembath (2nd), Rufus Holden (3rd), and Emily Miller (6th)

Shaun Winsor, Director of Sport at Taunton Preparatory School, says: “I am so pleased that the pupils were still able to compete in this event after they worked so hard practicing during the course of last year. I wish them every success in the final.”
