Five reasons to study at The Grange as an international student

Hoodies-2

At Taunton School International Middle School, our students thoroughly enjoy living and studying at The Grange, a stunning 19th century listed country house that is home to our young international learners at Taunton School.

Our young international learners benefit from a bespoke education at The Grange, while also integrating fully with English-speaking students at Taunton Prep School through lessons, activities and weekend trips. It’s easy to understand why: engaging lessons, a huge variety of clubs and activities, weekly trips, movie nights in the boarding house and more is on offer as a TSIMS student.

When asked about their time at TSIMS, one of last year’s students said “When I joined TSIMS, I was a first time boarder. I really enjoyed my time there and made some of my happiest memories.”

We asked this year’s students what their favourite thing is about being a student at The Grange. Here’s what some of them said:

  • “You never feel lonely at TSIMS. There is always somebody around to chat to, play games or do puzzles with. TSIMS has such a strong sense of community and a family feel that makes students feel warm and welcome in their home away from home.”
  • “Getting to live and work with people from all over the world who have different experiences, lifestyles and cultures is so interesting. The school has created a safe and non-judgemental environment, where difference is embraced and people can be who they want to be.”
  • “There is always something going on. Whether its lunch time or after school clubs, movie and game nights in the boarding house or trips to safari parks, Winter Wonderland or the beach. Life at TSIMS is exciting and there always something on to keep you busy.”
  • “Classrooms are fun and positive environments. Lessons are always so interesting and there are so many opportunities to improve on English skills, especially when we do trips and lessons with the students from Taunton Prep School, which is every week.”
  • “Teachers are supportive both inside and outside the classroom. They help with prep and exam preparation, as well as providing emotional support when students are upset or uncomfortable. They are kind and people that students feel comfortable talking to.”

Schooling is so much more than homework and exam results. It’s about having fun whilst learning, making memories and discovering who you are. It’s great to see our students getting so much out of their education here and loving coming to school.
