Message to parents: Red weather warning

Posted: 17th February 2022

Dear Parents,

You are probably aware that the Met Office have issued a red weather warning covering part of Somerset from 7.00am to 12.00pm tomorrow morning (18th February 2022). Further details can be found on the Met Office website.

The guidance issued includes:

  • Stay indoors as much as possible
  • Do not drive unless your journey is really necessary

As a result we have made the following decisions:

  • Senior School day students should not come into school tomorrow (18th February). Lessons will be delivered remotely and/or resources will be available on Firefly. Teachers will be in touch with students via Teams.
  • Prep day students should only come into school if absolutely essential. If they do come into a school they should bring a packed lunch.
  • Nursery and Pre-Prep will be closed. If you have children who attend the Nursery or Pre-Prep we kindly ask that you keep them at home tomorrow.
  • Breakfast and lunch will only be available to boarding students.
  • School transport will not be available.
  • Boarders can leave today for the half term break. Please liaise with the relevant Housemistress/master if an early departure is necessary.
  • Boarders who have arranged flights for tomorrow and cannot travel will be expected to make arrangements with guardians. We will support with making these arrangements.

Whilst we do not want to change our normal arrangements, I’m sure you will understand that the safety of our community takes priority.

Please do get in touch with the relevant Housemistress/master if you have any questions.

With best wishes

Lee Glaser
