Taunton School announces appointment of new COO

Posted: 31st March 2023

Sandra Reynolds, who has had a career in the education sector spanning more than 20 years, will take up the position as Taunton’s Chief Operating Officer in May.

She is currently COO and Chief Financial Officer for a large multi academy trust in Wiltshire.

“It is a privilege to be joining Taunton School,” said Sandra. “I am absolutely delighted to be taking up this role at an incredibly exciting time for the school as it continues to develop its facilities and educational offer so that current and future generations of students have access to the best opportunities.

“I am thrilled to be part of that journey, working alongside a fantastic team of colleagues.”

Sandra, who originally trained as an accountant, will be moving to Somerset from Wiltshire with her husband and two daughters who are excited about the move.

“What really fascinates me about Taunton School is the strong community of governors and staff who are philanthropic, diverse and aspirational,” said Sandra. “They will not settle for anything but the best for young people and each other.”

As the new COO, Sandra will lead the operational side of the school. She takes over from Nikki Miller, who held the position for seven years and was a finalist in the TES awards last year for ‘Best School Business Leader’.

Headmaster James Johnson said: “I am delighted that Sandra will be joining us next term. I have no doubt that her extensive experience, managing the finances and operations of multi academy trusts in the maintained sector, will be of great value to Taunton School as we complete our ambitious campus development plan and ensure that the school continues to thrive.”
