A student from Taunton School has successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for Rock2Recovery, a military community interest company (CIC).

A Year 12 student at the School, Ethan conquered the 5,895m climb on 3rd November 2025 and officially reached the summit at 6:26am.

Ethan completed the climb with his Dad who together made up a team of twelve people all raising money for Rock2Recovery. The group has now raised more than £13,500.

Ethan said of his achievement: “Climbing Kilimanjaro was an incredible experience and one I will never forget. This was a huge personal challenge and I am so pleased to have raised money for Rock2Recovery – a group I feel so passionate about.”

This is not the first exceptional challenge Ethan has undertaken in aid of Rock2Recovery, having already completed a trek to Mount Everest Base Camp.

Rock2Recovery provides life-changing support for current and former military personnel and blue light staff. Ethan has personal links to the CIC, with his Dad serving in Afghanistan as a Royal Marine with its founder.

Taunton School is extremely proud of achievements made by its students and is committed to helping them to find their exceptional.
