Freya Wins Top Prize at National Piano Finals

Congratulations to Year 12 Freya for her recent success in the National Finals of the European Piano Teachers’ Association UK Piano Competition, held at Steinway Hall, London.

Not only was Freya the winner of her category but she was awarded a top prize for giving one of the best performances. This was an outstanding achievement given the exceptionally high levels of all the young pianists (winners from the three regional finals held in Bristol, Leeds and London) who reached the grand final.

In addition, following her success in several piano competitions at the Bristol Festival of Music, Speech and Drama, Freya gave a superb performance at the Festival’s Celebration Concert where she was presented with the prestigious Bess Fowler Trophy. Each year, the most promising performer from a specific section of the festival is selected to receive the award, and with a great many young pianists taking part in the festival, this was a tremendous accolade.
