Since Taunton School was founded in 1847, providing education for children from all backgrounds regardless of financial means has been central to its ethos. The need to provide funds for means-tested bursaries remains a priority, central to the School’s development strategy. It is therefore critical to increase financial resources to achieve the School’s mission. There is also a need to raise funds for capital projects to preserve and enhance the School’s environment to benefit our current students and to ensure a legacy for future generations. In our fundraising practice, we promise our donors and all our stakeholders that:

We are honest and open

  • We are clear and truthful when stating our need for funds
  • We are clear about who we are, what we do and how each gift is used
  • We give a clear explanation about how a gift can be made and how to amend a regular gift
  • We acknowledge promptly, respect the wishes of those who wish to remain anonymous and honour restrictions placed on our donations
  • We are committed to transparency: details about our fundraising activity are displayed on our website and in our Annual Report
  • We are happy to answer any questions about fundraising because we believe that every supporter and potential supporter has the right to know how donation are used
