Event Information

We are delighted to welcome Sir Alex Beard CBE, Chief Executive of the Royal Ballet and Opera, to deliver this terms Keeling Lecture.

One of the UK’s most respected arts leaders, Sir Alex has led the Royal Ballet and Opera since 2013, overseeing a remarkable period of transformation and growth. During his tenure, he has guided major redevelopment projects, expanded the organisation’s educational and digital reach, strengthened its international reputation, and successfully steered it through the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic.

Prior to joining the Royal Ballet and Opera, Sir Alex spent 18 years at the Tate Museum, including serving as Deputy Director and playing a key role in the creation of Tate Modern, one of the world’s most visited modern art museums.

Awarded a CBE for services to the arts in 2012 and a Knighthood in 2025, Sir Alex brings unique insight into leadership, philanthropy, cultural institutions, and the role of the arts in modern society.

This promises to be a fascinating and thought-provoking evening from one of the most influential figures in British cultural life. We hope you will join us.
