We are delighted to invite you to the next in our series of business and networking panels, this time focusing on ‘The Myth and Reality of AI’. As well as hearing from our expert panel of speakers, listed below, you will also have the opportunity to meet and network with other professionals.

The event will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Thursday 19th June at the RAF Club, London. Spaces are limited to ensure the networking is manageable, so please sign up here.

Speakers

David Ford
Hailing from the heart of Birmingham, David graduated from Liverpool University in 1999. Driven by his passion for technology, he began his career in the Nuclear Industry, working on mission-critical IT systems, then at CSC before founding Eloquent Technologies in 2009 amidst the challenges of the UK financial crisis. Today, Eloquent is a thriving UK organisation that specialises in cloud technology.

David is passionate about the evolution of people and organisations and is intrigued by the significance of effective management in achieving high performance within a team. He is an enthusiastic runner, having put aside his bike five years ago. He lives in Taunton, and his son attends Taunton School. His second son has a nursery place secured when he arrives later this year.

Nuria Pastor
Nuria is a private practice lawyer in the Tech and Data team of Fieldfisher LLP, a London City law firm. Nuria specialises in data protection law and digital regulation.

For the last 20+ years Nuria has advised global clients on privacy and data protection compliance matters. In recent years, Nuria has advised clients on new product roll out risk assessments, including for products incorporating AI/Gen AI technologies. Nuria supports clients handling personal data security breaches, data subject requests and regulatory investigations. Nuria works for a varied range of clients and sectors with a focus on life sciences and digital health and other sectors such as technology and travel. Nuria is a dual-qualified (England & Wales / Spain) lawyer and holds CiPP/E and CIPM certifications. Nuria is rated in UK legal directories as a privacy law expert.

Nuria lives in Taunton and her daughter is a pupil at Taunton School.

Mo Tanweer
With a career spanning investment banking, academia and consulting, Mo Tanweer helps businesses navigate the challenges of integrating AI into their business models. Teaching at the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School and the Rotterdam School of Management, Mo specialises in how AI and other global megatrends, from demographic transitions to climate change, reshape economics, labour markets and geopolitics. Mo’s research dives into the profound economic shifts AI brings and the practical hurdles businesses face when adopting emerging technologies. Mo also advises the United Nations on in-country policies and strategic advice on a range of sectors, from demography to digital transformations.

Nathan Wilkinson
After obtaining a degree in Biochemistry with Molecular Biology from Leeds University, Nathan started his career working in retail HR. After a few years and with the advent of cloud HR systems Nathan moved into the technology side of HR, Recruitment & Payroll. For the past 15 years he has been working at SAP UK, implementing SAP SuccessFactors for a wide range of global customers. Nathan’s experience with AI includes implementing AI for customers, using AI to help set development goals and understanding how AI is impacting how companies recruit.

Nathan lives just outside Taunton and currently has a son at Taunton Schools. In his spare time, he grows/shows dahlias, supports Wigan Athletic and has a rather extensive Lego collection.

Moderator: Graham Mallard
Having held leadership positions at three of the UK’s leading independent boarding schools, Graham joined Taunton School as Deputy Head Academic in September 2023 and is leading the School’s rising academic status. Graham combines school leadership with his ongoing research into education and economics, particularly focusing on models of decision making and the environment. Graham is widely published in these fields, with articles in the highest tier of academic journals and books with Palgrave Macmillan, Routledge and Agenda, and continues to work with economists at the University of Bath. Graham has recently been a guest speaker at two educational conferences in China, delivering talks about the behavioural science of teacher development.
