A very warm welcome to the Taunton School website. Our purpose is to enable each child to embrace their individuality, explore their passions and develop into confident, well-rounded adults ready to make a positive impact on the world.
Our school rests on four key pillars: a culture of ambition, a mindset for life, a sense of belonging and a global community. Three key values are espoused by all students and staff: humility, engagement and kindness. Our community is aspirational yet unpretentious. We seek to develop quiet self-confidence in our pupils, with no hint of arrogance. We encourage all students to engage fully with the range of opportunities available to them and, above all, we ask them to look after one another.
It is an extremely exciting time to join Taunton School. We are in the midst of a hugely ambitious campus development plan to enhance the school’s already outstanding facilities. Following the completion of the new Dining Hall (2020), Sixth Form Centre and Library (2022), Green Heart of the campus (2023), transformational improvements to Pre-Prep play space and to our all-weather sporting facilities (2024) we are soon to embark on an defining project to bring Taunton School, Taunton School International and Taunton School International Middle School on to one campus, ensuring that we deliver our exceptionally diverse educational offerings together.
In both our unrivalled breadth of academic offerings (GCSE, A-Level, IB, BTEC, one-year GCSE programme, Pre-Foundation Year and International Foundation Year) and in the extraordinary co-curricular opportunities, we play to the strengths of every child. Our recent ISI inspection has confirmed this, recognising a significant strength in the co-curriculum where the ‘programme has been carefully crafted by the school’s leaders, who take into account pupil’s views and show a deep understanding of how to unearth the potential of each pupil.’
Please enjoy browsing our website and do take the opportunity to come and visit us. We look forward to welcoming you.
