Boarding and Care
Students stay in comfortable boarding houses with single, twin and triple rooms for the Seniors and dormitories of up to six students for the Juniors.
When students are not in a room by themselves, we make sure they share with a student of a different first language to encourage them to speak English.
We provide the highest levels of care and attention to every member of our community to make sure their time at Taunton School is safe, secure, happy and memorable.
Taunton School quickly becomes a home from home for our students and no matter how far they have travelled, they soon feel comfortable, confident and secure with their new ‘family’ and friends.
Experienced House Parents and boarding staff provide a family atmosphere and with our low student-staff ratio, we ensure there is always someone available to support and lend a helping hand if needed.
Students are provided with three meals a day and snacks are available at other times. Individual dietary requirements can be met. There is a choice of food at each meal.
If students are feeling unwell, we have a matron available to look after them as well as nurses and doctors on call should the need arise. There is also a hospital less than 10 minutes away.
Spending money is held securely in the Summer School House Bank. Students can withdraw spending money each day to take with them on trips and excursions. There are safes in each room for students’ other valuables.
The Taunton School campus has WiFi coverage. Students also have access to our computer network during Summer School. Access is subject to passwords and parental controls.
Students may bring mobile phones to Summer School although they are not essential. Students may contact home using the school’s telephone if they wish to. The use of mobile phones is strictly limited to social times.
