Christmas Week at TSIMSFriday, December 14, 2018
It’s been a busy week at The Grange with the students revising hard and taking their end of term exams. What better way to finish the week than with some festive trips to bring us to the end of term. On Friday evening we braved the stormy weather and took a trip to Weston-super-Mare with the Kingston St Mary Youth Club. Here the students were given the chance to bond, and make friends with, the local community of Kingston St Mary. The skaters of the group glided around the undercover ice rink, whilst the remainder huddled around cups of hot chocolate in the café, watching their friends on the ice. Xavier, Abdul and Zhancheng in particular all proved to be expert skaters and helped to encourage those who were a little unsteady on their blades.
On Sunday, four of The Grange students joined Foxcombe and Taunton School students and headed to Bristol for a second ice skating expedition. We were impressed by Ramon’s improvement as he ventured out into the middle of the rink unaided for his second ever time on the ice! The students then headed into Cribbs Causeway for some lunch and Christmas shopping. Meanwhile Mrs Shearman, our housemistress, led a trip to Bristol Hippodrome to partake in a classic Christmas activity, watching a Pantomime. The actors told the story of Cinderella. This involved a lot of participation from the students and audience. We loved seeing them laugh, sing along and get involved.
