Where has our summer gone? We have become very used to seeing summer dresses and wellies this week, as the children relish the big puddles around – actively looking to make a big splash where they can.

There has been lots of productivity around the Nursery and Pre-Prep this week in preparation for Sunday. The children have been very busy making interesting gifts, writing and illustrating beautiful detailed books and creating fabulous artwork to send home.

The staff have been busy going through the process of report writing in order to show your child’s development over this past Academic year. It is always lovely to share all the learning opportunities with you in more detail.

The children in Year one celebrated the Buddhist festival of Wesak this week, by practising their mindfulness and meditation techniques. They also discussed and shared, how we show being kind to others and they spent time being creative, making their own pretty Lotus flowers.

As the Year two children near the end of their focus on the Dutch artist Van Gogh. I have enjoyed seeing the children’s research, their interpretations of his painting and their role play of the Café Terrace at night which he painted during his stay in Arles. There were some particularly cheeky conversations going on with the children sharing their French and what could go wrong in a Café. Mrs Cooper and Mrs Brodie were very bemused by the children who didn’t feel the need to pay a bill.

Have a lovely weekend.
