This Week at TSIFriday, September 21, 2018
On Saturday 15th of September TSI ventured out to Outpost at Lydeard Farm for an exciting day of team building exercises. Students were split into groups and rotated around eight activities that included air rifle shooting, archery and a river crossing.
The activities centred around several core skills including leadership, teamwork and communication. This allowed the students to get to know one another making lots of friendships, whilst having lots of fun at the same time! In particular the river crossing was a highlight for many students as they tried to get across the river without getting their feet wet. However, not all succeeded!
The Saturday was rounded off with a well-earned dinner back at school, followed by snacks and a pool tournament in the common room. The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by students and staff and there’s now a great buzz around the campus for the official start of term this week!
On Thursday the TSI tutor groups took part in a quiz competition where they worked well together to try and answer all questions. Each round of the competition introduced different aspects of British life. Rounds ranged from identifying famous British people to music throughout the last fifty years. The students played the quiz in good spirits and had a lot of fun. It was especially interesting to see who the students thought the teachers were just based on a photo. The students’ favourite round was the food tasting of British treats. Marmite saw some interesting facial features! The successful team called Clash of Callaghan won the competition with over a hundred and fifty points. Their tutor Mr O’Callaghan was delighted with their teamwork and desire to be the best. They were rewarded with a pizza night to celebrate their success.
