This term has seen nine new students join us at The Grange. In order to welcome them into the group, Mr Duncan organised a surprise bowling trip on Thursday afternoon, postponing prep (much to the delight of the students!) to allow the group to bond and take part in an inter-tutor group competition. The group enjoyed mixing with those that they had not spent a lot of time with, whilst aiming for some strikes. While there were many talented bowlers amongst the students, the winners were Mr Ngo’s tutor group.
At the weekend, there were further chances to bond over pizza, as Mrs Shearman our House Mistress held a take away pizza night on Saturday evening. The group then gathered to watch the film ‘Into the Woods’, which was particularly enjoyable as some of the students are working on this in Drama Club at the Senior School this term. On Sunday, the whole school headed into Exeter to do some shopping, grab some lunch and see the sights. The group walked down to Clip and Climb, in the Quay, where the students enjoyed an hour conquering the 25 different climbing challenges. Xavier made the climb to the top of the poles look easy, as he sprinted up. He then took on Antony in a race up the climbing wall. We were impressed with Linda, who was the first girl to take up this challenge, and, despite a few wobbles, managed to get to the top. She she then had to take the leap in order to return to the ground. Overall, the trip was a big hit with the students, with many expressing they would like to return to Clip and Climb in the future.
