Wonderful Costumes for World Book Day

Posted: 8th March 2019

Another busy week, starting with our version of a ‘German Karneval.’ This is a German celebration that has traditionally taken place as an opportunity for residents in the Rhineland to live it up, before Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent. I greatly enjoyed my tie cutting and Year 2 looked like they were making the most of the opportunity to parade in their masks and make lots of noise. I would like to thank Mr Ashmore and Mr Henderson for being great sports and, of course, Frau Ashmore.

I would also like to recommend to you the talks that are often taking place in the senior school. Last week’s talk on Mental Health, and this week’s motivational lecture from an ex Tornado pilot have been very thought provoking and open to all of the Taunton School Community, who would like to attend. Do see the Courier for details.

Yesterday was “World Book Day” and I know that all the children so enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character. Thank you all for taking the time and effort to make this possible by supplying and making such wonderful costumes.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and we all look forward to hearing from the children what they have been doing this weekend.
