High Atlas Expedition Morocco 2018
Thursday, March 22, 2018
Taunton School is pleased to announce the launch of the Morocco High Atlas Expedition 2018.
This demanding seven day trip will take place over the first week of the Easter Holidays 2018 (around March 22nd). It has three goals: 1) Climb Mount Toubkhal (4,167m, 13,671 ft) - the highest peak in Northern Africa. 2) Learn winter hiking skills including the use of an ice axe and crampons. 3) Experience and learn about the Moroccan Berber Culture.
This trip is open to all students in Taunton School, from Years 9-13 in 2018. 15 students will be selected to take part. It will be led by Tom Brodie, our Head of Economics and Business, who is also an International Mountain Leader. Support will be provided by Skyhook Adventure Training and local in-country providers. Students who wish to join the trip will need to be both fit and determined to face the challenge of the mountain.
To find out more and sign up, please see the video above from the Information Evening for parents and students on June 19th 2017, where Alan Cooney from Skyhook Adventure Training presented with Mr Brodie.
