Alicia qualifies for Nationals

SWIM Ireland’s Irish Open Swimming Championships kicked of on Thursday, April 28th, with Irish swimmers still on the hunt for Olympic and European qualification times.

400 swimmers from 73 clubs including 17 foreign clubs competed across four days of competition for national titles in 34 individual and six team events.

As part of the Team Wales Youth Swimming Squad, Alicia Gallagher was selected to race at the Irish Open Swimming Championships in Dublin. Alicia completing in three events, 50 Breaststroke, 100 Breaststroke and the 200 Breaststroke.

Having raced in the heats and semi-finals over four days Alicia had made it through to all finals with a PB in the 50 Breaststroke and season best in the 100 Breaststroke. The times achieved secure British Summer Nationals qualification which is being held in Sheffield later in the Year.
