TSIMS May Fayre is a great success
ON Saturday, May 7th, the annual TSIMS May Fayre was held at The Grange. This year, the staff and students had chosen to raise money for the Piers Simon Appeal “School In A Bag” initiative and Children’s Hospice South West.
Despite a drizzly start to the day, we were lucky enough to enjoy the beautiful sunshine for the majority of the afternoon, which made for a very enjoyable fayre. We were joined by students and staff from other parts of the school, as well as many local people from Kingston St Mary and the surrounding areas.
Activities on the afternoon included six stalls led by our six tutor groups, including a penalty shoot out. There was also a cake and ice cream sale, and an inflatable “Gladiator Battle”, enjoyed by all, including Mr Hallworth.
Alongside this, our school choir and a handful of other musicians performed in our Forest Classroom to a packed audience.
The grand total raised for our charities was £851.36. Our thanks go to all who came to support TSIMS and our charities on the day, and to Lis Foy, a representative from ‘School In A Bag’ who was able to join us and speak to our guests about the great work being done by the Piers Simon Appeal.
