Rugby success for International students

Saturday, December 16, 2017

Rugby has been very successful so far this season, with the Senior Colt B team having only lost 1 game. Many of our International students have played for the School teams and a few successes include:

  • Luke Kiatchaiphattana (Thai, formerly TSIMS, now TS) originally started on the U14s B team but now plays for the A team - he is also the quickest player across the U14s teams.
  • Olivier Mastelinck (Belgian, formerly TSI, now TS), Arms Karnasuta (Thai, formerly TSI) and Angel Trakov (Bulgarian, formerly TSI, now TS) all ended the season with the 2nd team after a successful season with the 3rd team.
  • Roman Prokhorov (Russian, formerly TSIMS, now TS) and Daniel Wen (China, directly joined TS in 2017) were both awarded ‘Champagne moment’, a prize given for the best rugby moment of the season, for the U16B and U14B teams respectively. Roman is the top tri scorer for the U16Bs and often plays for the A team as a result. Daniel was also awarded ‘Players’ Player’ by his teammates.
  • Jasper Meyer (German, currently at TSI) started the season with the U15B team and ended with the A team where he was nominated ‘Man of the Match’.

Olek Zhaboiedov (Ukrainian, formerly TSIMS, progressed to TPS before joining TS) and Karl Andress (TSI) were both named ‘Most improved player’ for the U14B and 3rd XV teams respectively.
