Taunton School Main Building at Dusk

Mountain biking fun

Posted: 1st October 2017

A group of adventurous students from Taunton School International headed to Haldon Forest to experience an afternoon of mountain biking.

With a variety of designated bike routes ranging in difficulty resulted in a challenging day for all. Throughout the course of the afternoon students were ably led on a number of routes around the forest, including the ‘Ridge Ride Trail’. This route is a technical, fast and flowing trail with tight corners and lively descents to test your reflexes – if you feel confident and are able to manage it! Back at the café there is a purpose built ‘skills area’ where you can test and improve your skills. Bumps and bends give you a feel for off-road cycling and how to handle the terrain. The students who came not only had a great, energetic day out, but were also tasked to try and experience challenges they may not have faced before – a great character building day enjoyed by all!
