TSI Build Gingerbread Houses

Monday, December 10, 2018

The penultimate week of term has been a busy one at Taunton School International. The week begun with the showcasing of the highly anticipated school performance of Les Misérables. Taunton School International's very own Hannah played a versatile member of the female chorus. Hannah worked very hard in her roles and the Foxcombe girls' house thoroughly enjoyed watching the performance and supporting their friend!

To get into the Christmas spirit, Taunton School International hosted an inter-tutor group gingerbread house competition. Each tutor group had to build and then decorate their own gingerbread house which was then judged by Mr Hallworth. The winning tutor group was Mrs Bollom's whose gingerbread house was wonderfully decorated and looked very Christmassy.

Over the weekend, there were further festivities occurring at TSI. Mehrsa, Stasi, Manu, Sofi, Liang-Liang, Tamane, Lera, Azzurra and Kate went on a trip to the Christmas Sparkle Wrapping charity in Taunton. Here the girls wrapped presents for children living in difficult circumstances in the Taunton area. The girls really enjoyed the experience and also bought presents with them that were donated from each tutor group at Taunton School International. The girls found the day a really rewarding experience!

On Sunday there was also trip to Cribbs Causeway to go ice skating on their outdoor rink. 20 Taunton School International students went on the trip, which was a hugely successfully day as students enjoyed shopping and eating great food as well as adventuring onto the ice rink too! All students returned back from their day tired but in great spirits as we move into the final week of term.

On the sports front, Leo, Justin and Jeffrey represented the school in Basketball at the South West Winter league finals last Wednesday. They beat Blundell's to make the final but narrowly lost by 3 points in the final match. In the rugby Jek played for the Senior Colts A's, who lost 22-0 to Kings College. Timo, Alfred, Paulius and Kevin all played for the Senior Colts B, also playing away to Kings College Taunton and unfortunately losing 36-10. The football second team lost 0-1 to Clayesmore, though Houman, Louise, Alex and Lino all put up a good performance. Lastly, Yash and ChiWo competed in the squash team playing against West Buckland with both Chiwo and Yash winning both of their matches!
