TSI Take To The Ice
It was a busy Sunday for TSI as they joined TSIMS on a skating trip to Bristol and some TSI girls went to the Christmas Sparkle charity in Taunton.
In Bristol, the students went to a mall, with the ice skating rink outside. Even though a few were poor at ice skating, it was good to see that the boys and girls helped each other out. The rink was surrounded by many small stands, selling lots of different types of food. Alongside the rink and stalls was a big blue castle, which gave a royal air to proceedings as they skated around the rink. They were on the ice for one hour and were free to go shopping and explore Cribbs Causeway for the rest of the afternoon. The mall has a large variety of shops and many spent their time to find Christmas presents for their families back home. All in all the trip was a success and everyone had a great time.
Meanwhile, in Taunton, a group of girls helped to wrap presents for disadvantaged children who might not otherwise get a present for Christmas. They were very excited about helping Christmas Sparkle to the point that the girls brought their own presents for the boys and girls. Arriving by minibus, the girls were greeted by the charity's volunteers and were told: “We aim to give a Christmas gift to every child living in difficult circumstances in the Taunton and Wellington community”. It was actually a really good experience for the group as it was some quality bonding time, working together for the benefit of others. Also, they all enjoyed the present wrapping!
