Christmas Party and Music Morning
On the morning of the 10th December, the Grange invited villagers from Kingston St Mary, along with various guests from Taunton School to enjoy a festive selection of music organised by Miss Conway. The programme included Anne on Violin, performing a medley of Christmas songs. Zhancheng on the guitar performed O Little Town of Bethlehem, Tymur and Ramon on Piano and Xavier played The Pink Panther on Saxophone. We also witnessed some excellent vocal performances from Rakhym and the school choir. As a finale students and staff gathered around the Christmas tree to perform The Twelve Days of Christmas to the crowd. Our guests then congregated in the Dining Room to feast on Christmas treats, kindly donating money to S.U.R.E.
On Tuesday, following a traditional Christmas dinner, a Christmas Party was held, with each tutor group contributing by organising fun activities for the rest of their peers to enjoy. Mrs House’s face mash up game proved both popular and hilarious, with the whole school trying to guess whose faces made up each mixed up portrait. Mr Eksteen held a speed cup stacking competition, whilst other students took turns in guessing how many sweets filled a jar, posed in the photo booth and sung their hearts out at karaoke. The group gathered in the drawing room as Mr Duncan and Mrs Shearman handed out secret Santa presents that the students had prepared. We were impressed with the thoughtfulness of the group, with everyone receiving lovely gifts. To finish the term on Wednesday morning, everyone gathered for a celebration of the students' achievement in the Forest Classroom. Mr Duncan handed out awards for each subjects, chosen by their teachers. Students received certificates and books for their brilliant effort during their first term.
