A day in the life of a child in Nursery 1…
The Nursery throws open its doors from 7.30am to welcome the children. Once settled in, there’s time to play whilst we chat with parents.
The fun begins with registration where we sing our ‘Say Hello!’ song and the children join together to share news and say ‘Good Morning.’ Then it’s time for activity play with treasure baskets, which could be inside or outside of the classroom.
At 9.45am we either enjoy singing and action rhymes or music, gym or swimming before Group Time at 10am. Then it’s time for a well earned healthy snack that the children help to prepare. At 10.45am we head outside for activities and play, before rhyme time or a quick story and then everything stops for lunch at 11.45am.
Our afternoons resume with quiet time and sharing books at 12.30pm, before we welcome new arrivals. Construction, puzzles and games fill the time before it’s time to play outside again. Then it’s back inside for another fun activity before the children refuel with a healthy snack at 2.40pm. There’s just enough time for a story before school finishes at 3.30pm.
And for children staying after school, there’s more fun to be had with indoor and outdoor activities. We provide a tasty tea and you can collect anytime up until 5.45pm.
