Scholarships & Assisted Places
We believe that every child should have access to a life changing education. At Taunton School, we offer Scholarships and Assisted Places so that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

What is the difference between Scholarships, Awards and Assisted Places?
Scholarships are merit-based and pupils compete for them through a structured assessment such as exams or auditions. There are deadlines for applying and everyone goes through the same procedure. Scholarships are for entry into Year 7, 9 and 12 and carry a range of discounts.
Awards are merit-based and offer a discount on fees. They are available for entry into years outside the Scholarship entry years and reward talent in a broader range of skills.
Assisted Places are means-tested awards for financial assistance and are made at the School’s discretion. You will be given a financial form to complete, which is confidential, that is then assessed and a decision is made at the school’s discretion. It is possible for a pupil to receive assisted places support in addition to a Scholarship or Award.
If you are interested in applying for an assisted place and are a new family to the school please speak to our Admissions Manager on 01823 703303 or email email@example.com in the first instance. You will also need to complete this Financial Circumstances form once you have been in contact.
If you are an existing parent, please contact your Head in the first instance.
We offer Academic, Sport, Performing Arts and All Rounder scholarships to candidates for entry into Year 7 and subject to suitable progress, continue through to the end of the 6th form. Your child must be under the age of 11 on the 1st of September to qualify for entry.
The deadline for 11_plus_ Scholarships for 2018 entry is Monday, 4th December 2017.
