Hockey is part of the school games curriculum from Year 2 for both boys and girls. The Preparatory School girls play hockey as their main sport in the autumn and boys focus on hockey as their main sport in the spring. They generally play in their age groups. However, in Year 7 and 8, pupils who show exceptional talent may have the opportunity to play in an older age group in county and national competitions.

The school has excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. These include our three areas with artificial surfaces, The Jowett astro, the Taunton Vale astro and The Durrant astro, complete with floodlights and our 2 indoor areas in the main Taunton School Hall and the TPS sports hall. The schools Director of Hockey is responsible for hockey across all schools. A number of boys and girls each will gain JDC/JAC selection.

Fixtures take place on most Wednesdays and Saturdays. Competitions entered include county age groups and IAPS.
