At Taunton School we aim to equip our students with the confidence, experience and skills to naturally take up leadership roles in their lives both within and beyond school.
Our Leadership Programme MOMENTUM comprises of a breadth of activities and opportunities which stretch our students through participation, contribution and organisation, alongside peer to peer mentoring.
The programme develops communication/interpersonal skills, decision making, teamwork, time management, planning, organisation, negotiation, creativity, confidence, commitment and engagement.
At the heart of it is the belief that our students need to be exposed to leadership opportunities as part of their overall school experience and be empowered to develop their individual styles by reflecting and evaluating the outcomes.
In the Sixth Form the programme is voluntary and flexible allowing students to demonstrate initiative in achieving their targets.
Alongside this there are many other opportunities for students to develop as leaders as School Prefects, House Prefects, peer mentors, sports captains, music and drama, DoE and Ten Tors, and in the Combined Cadet Force (CCF).
