Originally from as far away from Taunton as you can get without leaving England, Alison grew up in Northumberland, the English county which borders Scotland. Alison lived there until she went to university to study International Relations. This course gave Alison an interest in international affairs and, when she graduated, Alison decided to teach English in Portugal.

While in Portugal, Alison taught all ages and soon decided that she preferred being in a classroom of more energetic, younger people. Since returning to the UK, Alison has always taught in international boarding schools. Her timetable at Taunton School International is divided equally between English and Psychology, subjects which both offer plenty of scope for discussion. Alison hopes to be able to share her interest in these subjects and give students the skills and knowledge needed to move forward in their education.
