Diane was in boarding school from the age of 7 to 17 in Lingfield, Surrey, UK, as her parents were posted all over the world. For her gap year she sailed around the world (as part of a crew of 10) on an old converted 33m Danish Fishing Vessel (M/V National) with over a ton of canvas sail aboard.

Diane spent 11 months as chief cook and bottle washer after her watch duties on the Poop deck. She graduated from University of Toulouse Le Mirail 2, in France with a BA in Mass Communications. Diane’s first job was working in the Press Department at Airbus Industrie in Blagnac, Toulouse. After 5 years with Airbus Diane was headhunted by ‘Paris Match Internationale’. Paris Match took me to Egypt/Kuwait/Bahrain for a wonderful career as an Advertorial Reporter. She also freelanced for Newsweek and The Wall St Journal in the Middle East where she lived for 20+ years.

Diane came back to the UK in 2005 and completed a 3 year Certification in Counselling and Psychotherapy through Bridgwater College, which was an amazing self development experience for her. Diane’s two sons, 38 years old and 21 years old respectively have now left home and so being at Taunton School International working alongside the Pastoral team with the children is gloriously warding off the ’empty nest syndrome’.
