Ian was born in England but his family moved to the southern states of America where he spent his formative years.
After 10 years Ian moved back to England to a little Island called the ‘Isle of Wight’ where he completed the rest of his schooling. For a while he worked on a fishing boat which he really enjoyed as he loved being in the outdoors and on the sea where every day is different.
After getting married, Ian and his wife spent a year teaching English in Thailand before they again returned to the Isle of Wight where he worked in a special needs school with children between the ages of 10 and 19. This was Ian’s first introduction to boarding and he very much enjoyed the challenges and rewards of working with young people. Ian has been working at Taunton School International for nearly two years now; he began at Taunton School International Middle School as pastoral support before being appointed as Housemaster of Foxcombe boys’ house in January 2016.
