Jo was born and educated in London. On leaving school, Jo worked in the City for a year, then went travelling, before deciding that teaching was the career for her. Jo attended DeMontford University and studied BEd (Hons) course, in Physical Education and English (Secondary) and her first teaching post was in Southampton.

Jo moved to the West Country and took the post as Head of Girls’ Games at Taunton School Preparatory, in 1996. After a two year break in the Cotswolds, in 2002, Jo returned to Taunton School Preparatory as Head of English and moved to the International School in 2012.

As a result of her interest of working with international students, Jo qualified as an EAL Teacher to complement her existing English degree. Jo thoroughly enjoys working with a variety of nationalities. In the fast-changing, transient world we live in, Jo thinks it is wonderful that so many international pupils are choosing to come to England to learn and develop as young people.
